How Can Difficulty In Walking And Palpitations Be Treated?
I had neck surgery in January this year (disc removal C3 and cadaver placement). My recovery has been slow. I can write again, eat, brush my teeth play piano with my right hand. Sleep is very difficult. Walking is very difficult (thighs very heavy feeling). Other nervous system peculiarities. Out of breath walking the dog. I have had Atrial Fib. for weeks; my beats relatively slow (65 to 75) and not out of control, bothers me mostly at night. Angiogram about 15 years ago. 50% blockage left side and no stent. A Fib. about 10 years ago with beats up to 160s. This was resolved on it s own during 4 day stay in hospital. I am a 69 year old residential roofer in the Chicago area. I keep it light (my balance is no longer the best). I have an appointment with a cardiologist in 17 days. With no other symptoms, am I right not to waste a trip to the ER? Thanks, Marvin Kosowski
Hello Welcome to Ask a Doctor service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. It does not seems to be emergency, if this is the cardiac arrhythmia then it has to be treated accordingly, once you start the medication for that then you wont be having any symptoms, for the improper gait underlying cause would be matter of concern , but it is due to age in your case, exercise could give best result, sleeping difficulty could be due to wrong posture. Hope I answered your query, let me know for further assistance.
