How Can Digoxin Toxicity Be Treated?

My Aunt is on Dialysis, has A-Fib, CHF, COPD, recurring pneumonia. She was taken to the hospital last night for severe confusion and it was determined by the medical staff in the ER that she may have been having a reaction to a certain medication. They performed a toxic screen and the results came back that she was in Digoxin Toxicity. What is the severity of this condition. She is totally bed ridden.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
For patients who have been suffering from digoxin toxicity repeatedly but still look stable, we usually discontinue digoxin therapy for such stable patients with chronic toxicity.
Digoxin Fab fragments, cardiac pacing, antiarrhythmic drugs, magnesium, and hemodialysis are treatment options for patients like your aunt having severe acute toxicity.
