How Can Discomfort In The Hands While On A Hand Cast Be Managed?

I have a cast covering from my fingers to around my elbow. My wrist was damaged on 8/3 been casted since 8/4. I am having a difficult time dealing with the cast and wondered if a shorter cast can replace the one i now have and am experiencing a lot of anxiety from the tightness and restricedness. I did ask at my two week appointment for the change and was denied. I really am having a problem with the cast. The discomfort is more than i can bare

You are the best judge of how tight your cast is. If you, the patient, are uncomfortable wearing it, then it needs to come off as soon as possible.
Tight casting can reduce or stop blood flow to your hand and fingers.
