How Can Discomfort In The Throat After A Dental Procedure Be Treated?
A couple of weeks ago I was at the dentist and swallowed a wad of dental material and since then my throat/esophagus still feels like something's in it, with accompanying GI symptoms of occasional belching and nausea -- things seems inflamed. Can material get caught in the esophagus/throat and not degrade fully? Any other thoughts about this? Thanks.
There are very slim chances that the dental material will stay in your throat as by now it would have dissolved as well as moved down with food.. Well, your symptoms appears to be more due to the belching and nausea problem as there is a possibility that you have developed acid reflux that is causing inflammation in the food pipe and throat leading to a feeling of something struck in throat.. Such observation is common in case of acid reflux.. However to confirm the same you can consult a Physician and get an upper G.I Endoscopy done.. However before that you can even try taking antacids half an hour before meals, take Omeprazole twice a day and eat plenty of probiotics like Yogurt. If you still do not feel better you can proceed for checking whether there is dental material still lodged in throat or it is an outcome of acid reflux..
Hope this helps..
REGARDS.
