How Can Diverticulitis Be Treated?

Hello, I have been diagnosed with diverticulitis, or at least that s what she thinks it is, and as of yesterday I am taking Ciprofloxacin, 500 mg 2 x per day and Metronidazole 500 mg 3 x per day. A friend just told me that her Mother died from taking Citro. (I am allergic to penicillin). Now I am afraid. Please give me your thoughts on this, thank you
