How Can Diverticulitis Be Treated?

I have been diagnosed with diverticulitis. I am trying to manage it with proper diet and homeopathic remedies, turmeric and glut amine. I am experiencing severe bloating the minute I begin eating and often even when I am not. This is very frustrating and embarrassing when my mid section appears as if I am 5 months pregnant!! I am not a big eater and watch my diet as well as exercise daily. Please help!!

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If there is a large or sudden increase in fiber intake then this would cause the bloating that you are experiencing.

There are also certain foods that are more likely to cause bloating to occur.

Some of these foods are---(1) beans, peas
(2)broccoli
(3)cabbage
(4)brussel sprouts
(5)turnips
(6)carbonated drinks
(7)onions
(8)prunes
(9)apples

If you are using a lot of any of these, then this may be contributing to your bloating and a change in diet is needed

I hope this helps
