How Can Diverticulitis Be Treated?

I recently was hospitalized with a GI bleed. They stated that the possible cause was diverticulitis. I usually stick to a diet recommended for diverticulitis but different doctors stress avoiding different foods. What do you recommend? Lettuce? fruit with seeds? nuts? tea? cabbage? desserts? broccoli?
