How Can Dizziness Be Treated?

My wife appears to have a dizzy disorder. She may be anemic and took iron pills to help her with this. I did the Epley maneuver on her right side only and noticed very distinct nystagmus. The epley seemed to help her but her symptoms have returned two days later. What do you suggest?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Without proper investigation no self-treatment is indicated. For dizziness, first of all check blood sugar level, hemoglobin (Hb) level, and measure blood pressure. If all 3 are normal then rule out ear infection causes like labyrinthitis and vestibulitis like inner ear problems.

Epley maneuver would be helpful if she is having positional vertigo. If needed to relieve inflammation of inner ear short-term Betamethasone course can be prescribed. Vestibular exercises are beneficial.

Consult a physician or otorhinolaryngologist for examination. According to the underlying cause, specific treatment should be given

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
