How Can Dry And Brittle Hair Be Treated?

I have had very dry, brittle hair for several months. It has been falling out excessively in my temples and throughout my head. No bald spots. I have had two different diagnoses from two different dermotologists when this happened the first time last fall. It happened for about 4-5months. Stopped. Hair was growing back nicely. Became more normal, not dry. In May, started all over again!
