How Can Dry Cough, Hoarse Voice And Chest Discomfort Be Treated?
i have a dry cough, which has no lead to hoarse voice, and some chest discomfort. I dont feel wheezing in my lungs and haven t produced any phlegm but I feel like its there somewhere. Looking at possible diagnosis but really just some relief. Can I take OTC medicine?
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM I have read and understood your concern The treatment of your condition will depend on the underlying cause.Your description of symptoms point towards a respiratory infection or pathology.A keen medical examination will be needed to know the type of respiratory problem that may be causing your symptoms.Possible causes may include: -Infection be it upper or lower respiratory -Allergy/respiratory tract irritation I willadvise you try the following: *Take a mucolytic like carbocysteine 5% *Steroid like prednisolone *An anti-histamin like benadryl If symptoms persist, you see the Doctor for examination and if need be, tests like a chest x ray, full blood count, ESR may be requested. Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns. Wish you good health
