Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have dry skin on my forehead from what I believe is panoxyl 4% face wash. I use it twice daily but have stopped using it on my forehead. I am trying to get rid of the rash what should I use? As of right now I am just applying cetaphil moisturizing lotion
As per your query you have symptoms of dry skin on the forehead which are pointing towards a condition known as sunburn or photoallergic dermatitis. In this condition the symptoms like the peeling of skin and dry patches become prominent. I would suggest you to:-
- Wash your face with cold water.
- Apply cold compresses to your face 2-3 times a day.
- Take antihistamine drug like Benadryl and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen to face all the times.
- Apply vitamin C serum at night.
If the condition doesn't improve in a week then consult a dermatologist for proper examination. The doctor may prescribe anti-inflammatory medications and steroid ointment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
