How Can Dysmenorrhoea Due To Endometriosis Be Treated?

Hi Doc, I m Leah, 32 years old. I had my surgery last March 7 this year due to endometriosis on both ovaries. I had my period 7 days after the surgery. My surgeon adviced me to take ocp for 2 years to avoid having period. But since April I ve been having small amount of blood discharge which is dark brown in color which I believe to be an old blood. And last Friday I had my period until now. I had disminorrhea on the 1st and second day of my period. My question is what can I do or take to stop having periods because as we know endometriosis came from it.

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you will need to use OCPs persistently for a few months to attain hormonal levels require to cause disruption however, endocrinologist review and hormonal profile may also be needed. Metformin has also good results with your symptoms however should be used after discussing with gynecologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
