How Can Dyspraxia Along With Hypotonia And Joint Hypermobility Be Treated?
Hello. My son was told 3 years ago that he has dyspraxia. He is 11 years old and this was a late diagnoses i am told because the focas was on his speech and language difficulties and he only just meets the criteria. From this he also has hypotonia and joint hypermobility. This causes him various difficulties that i am sure you have knowledge in but most serious for him at moment is it causes him a lot of pain, especially when active. He was referred to physio last month, she assessed him in a few minuets and said he certainly does not have joint hypermobility, she was unsure of the hypotonia and could not explain the excessive pain. He was referred back to pediatrics who inturn insist he does have these conditions. This is very frustating and at moment my son is taking pain relief daily, his sleep is disturbed frequently from muscle cramps and uses a laptop only at school due to pain in fingers. Any advice on how to proceed with medical professionals and with my son would be appreciated.
