How Can Ear Ache Be Treated?

I have a 14 year old who has been complaining of symptoms of an ear pain since Friday. Z- pack was started Friday. Pain is getting worse. Heat to ear seems to help some. Do I need to take her to ER and risk getting the flu? She did not take a flu shot this year. She does not have fever. She hasn t had any OTC pain meds? Tylenol versus Motrin? Suggestions please!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

He can take Tylenol.

Do not instil any OTC ear drops.

If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
