How Can Ear Congestion Be Treated?

Eight days ago my right ear closed up like I was going up a mountain. Ear was cleaned out. Still no sound. I hear white noise and some bass when music is on. I have a bit of vertigo now. But the hearing loss is driving me crazy. When I speak, inside my head all I hear is loud non- coherent rumbling

Hi Dear,

As per your query you have symptoms of ear congestion which is due to ear infection due to earwax buildup and due to pressure build up leading to eustachian tube dysfunction.

Need not to worry about it. I would suggest you to visit Otolaryngologist/ immediately and get evaluated and start treatment after proper examination. Get all the lab tests done and examination with otoscope. You should take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin along with Ibuprofen. You should put Otogesic ear drops 2-3 times a day. You should take proper rest. Try to avoid pricking it with any sharp object as it can leads to ear drum penetration and rupturing. You should avoid sleeping on this side.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
