Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi Sir my ear is blocked and hearing levels are reduced which I had got operated earlier in 2005 in a corporate hospital which is far away from my home . 1 week back in had fever cold and cough later on this blocked ear problem occurred. So I used candibiotic ear drops but of no use . Please suggest me solution
You may be having acute otitis media which sometimes occurs as sequelae after sore throat and fever. You have not mentioned whether the problem is in the same ear which you got operated previously or opposite ear. Candibiotic eardrop will not work as they are antifungal eardrops. I would advise you not to self-medicate as it may lead to permanent hear loss. Get yourself checked by an ENT specialist as soon as possible. You may be required to take a course of oral antibiotics. If there is an accumulation of fluid, then it may also be required to get it drained.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Nazma.amman
