General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Giddiness is most probably related to the inflammation or imbalance in the semicircular canals that help in balance. This is due to infection spreading from middle ear to inner ear. This can be diagnosed by the following ways:
* CT scan of mastoids
* Audiometry
* Clinical evaluation by an ENT surgeon
All this will lead to a proper diagnosis. A full course of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicine should be completed before going for any surgery if needed. Symptomatic treatment of giddiness with proper medication.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
