I have had a blockage in my right ear for 3 wks.I have been checked for wax and am clear. I have been given antihistamines but they are having no effect. i am not experiencing any pain but have buzzing in ear. I do suffer a lot from cataarh. Can you advise me at all?
The commonest cause I can think about is Spread of inflammation through the eustachian tube to the middle ear cavity causing fluid build up to have reduced movement of the tympanic membrane. This will not allow the ear drum to move as in a normal case hence I would advise you the following: * Consult an ENT surgeon for endoscopy of nose, throat and ears in particular to get a clear picture about the cause * Take antihistamine to continue * May need additional antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and oral steroids * No ear drops please * Do not blow the nose * Take a few weeks but certainly this will heal up
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
