Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a heart transplant 15 months ago. My echo shows ejection fraction of 28. How much of a problem am I in. How can the ejection fraction be increased. I have been pulse sterioded twice. This did Increase the EF the 1st time by 15 % But went down in 3 months. The second time It made no difference.
Heart transplant patients are really important patients and need to be managed by a heart failure specialist.
Regarding increasing your ejection fraction you should be put on appropriate immune suppression therapy, therapy with medicines like B blockers and ACE inhibitors and close follow up of your ejection fraction and symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Mohammad Mostafa Ansari Ramandi, Cardiologist
