How Can Elevated LDL Levels Be Treated?

I had severe muscle cramps in the calfs of both legs while taking Atorvastatin 10mg one daily. Had blood work done . Doctor said to stop taking. What can I do to lower my LDL? What is safe to take? Do not want the same side effects again. Do not want to harm kidneys or muscle damage to the heart.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello
welcome to healthcare magic
You have set your approach right. The best to reduce LDL is to maintain a good healthy fiberlicious (more fiber) diet. There is no space of addiction like smoking and alcohol (if you have a history ). The dietary changes you need to maintain are- green leafy vegetable, no aerated drinks, no fat containing items like pizza or burgers, having oats, beans, wheat, etc.
Your main goal should be a good breakfast, a nutty lunch and a mini dinner. Intake of salt and sugar must be minimal.
I hope Im able to help you
