How Can Elevated Potassium Levels Be Treated?

My heart doctor told me I had elevated potassium level so he did not change my medications. What can I do to decrease my levels. I was recently diagnosed with cardiac myopathy non ischemic and had have 3 new medications plus baby aspirin added to my medications. I also have Type II diabetes.

Hello,

It is possible that the increased potassium may be related to one or more of your medications. Some blood pressure or heart medications can cause an increase in potassium as a side effect. There are some foods that contain potassium and if you use these reducing them may help like bananas, coconut, avocado, spinach, sweet potato.
