How Can Elevated Triglyceride Levels Be Treated?

Hi I’m a 50 year female I am having problems keeping my triglycerides down. My recent blood work showed that my level is 216 and normal is 150. What do I need to do to get this level down. Do redQurill help or what OTC can I take as well as diet to get this lever down?

Hi,

As per your clinical history, please discuss with your treating Doctor about prescription medicines like [Atorvastatin + Fenofibrate]and add OTC Omega-3 fatty acid supplements] and follow lifestyle modifications like this because it is more important along with medications.

1)Try to lose extra pounds and maintain a healthy weight.

2)Try to avoid smoking.

3)Try to eat a low-fat, low-salt diet that includes many fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, discuss with your dietitian to make a chart.

4)Do exercise on most days of the week for at least 30 minutes a day.

5)Try to limit alcohol.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
