Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was on depakote for a long time, and now have an enlarged liver, cyst and kidney stone. I am on Keppra and am researching the Internet for Natural Remedies like Natures Way Kidney Bladder capsules. When I took Depakote 500 ER with Dandelion Rt. for enlarged liver, it gave me a seizure. I am in the process of taking Innovative CBD Cannabidiol from Hemp to eventually and gradually get off of Keppra, so that I can get rid of the enlarged liver, cyst and kidney stone.
Usually, liver enlargement may indicate some types of hepatitis or fatty liver diseases and in most cases, it doesn't require any specific treatment.
If this is caused by diet, obesity and diabetes then dietary and lifestyle changes will be beneficial in every case.
Alcohol and viral hepatitis are most common causes and in this case medical evaluation is required.
Also if there is infectious disease or biliary duct disorders then you need to do some tests to rule out more serious issues which require specific medical treatment.
You need to check your viral markers and do a liver biopsy if necessary.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
