Hello dr. my sister is suffering for epilepsy from last 12 year. she had 1 seizure when she was 7 years old. dr suggested to start mazetol 200mg with this she was in control for 5 years no seizure. after 5 years dr. ask to withdraw medicine as she is fit and fine. she was fine for next 1 year after that seizure starts again and every couple of month she had seizure of approx 1minute not highest then this. dr. started mazetol 400mg thrice a day, foritolev 1500mg twice a day. for next three year she was taking this medicine. but she was suffering with seizure once in 2-3 months. few days back she had big seizure for approx 1 hr. now its on daily basis. we spoke toh our dr. he changed the medicine mezetol 400mg thrice a day, emlevo 1500mg twice a day, lobacor 10mg once a day in night time. and for seizure he gave ativan 2mg once for 1 week. but still my sister is not un control. he suffering big seizure time 1hr approx from last 5-6 days. can you please help me with same. thanks in advance

Non responding epilepsy is generally a sign of some brain pathology or abnormal lesions. So I advice for CT brain and if required MRI also.
Did she had past history of trauma, severe infection or any other chronic illness? My suggestion is go for full body checkup and investigations once and consult psychiatrist also.
