How Can Erectile Dysfunction When Suffering From COPD Be Treated?

I have a male friend who is 78 we have become sexually active mostly by hand or oral sex on him. He is not able to get an erection and he feels bad about it. I don t want him taking any medication such as Viagra as not sure it would be healthy for him with his COPD. Is there any thing that is natural that can be used on him to get an keep an erection for a little bit.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the persistent inability to attain and maintain an erection sufficient to permit satisfactory sexual performance. Risk factors for ED are cardiovascular disease such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, peripheral vasculopathy, obesity, diabetes, dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome, lack of exercise, chronic conditions such as chronic renal failure and smoking. There are other causes also. A thorough medical history and physical examination should be done to diagnose erectile dysfunction and determine potential underlying causes.
Advice
1.     Capsule Revital – one capsule daily for 1 month. It contains ginseng and zinc which might help in ED
2.     Avoid smoking and alcohol
3.     Start workout in gym
4.     Ask him to lose weight if he is overweight
5.     Investigations – blood sugar (F & PP), lipid profile, measurement of blood pressure, and Hb%
6.     Consult a psychiatrist if problem is persisting after these measures
Thanks
