Hi,

In most of the cases, erythema nodosum is a self-limiting disease and requires only symptomatic relief with NSAIDS like aspirin, cool wet compresses, elevation and bed rest.

Restriction of the physical activities is recommended during active stage. If symptoms do not improve with these General measures, then systemic steroids and local injections of steroids is sometimes given.

If still symptoms do not get better then we usually give dapsone, colchicine or HCQ.

For those patients who still do not respond, we usually give newer drugs like adalimumab, etanercept or infliximab. However, these medicines can only be taken after consultation with a specialist doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
