How Can Excessive Discharge And Itching In The Vagina Be Treated?

I have been suffering with increased vaginal discharge with itching, burning and throbbing. I was treated for BV 3 weeks ago and then for a yeast infection 2 weeks ago. I started menstruating last Tuesday and all symptoms went away. I am back to being itchy and throbbing today. I was told my culture was negative for all infections. I was also told to take an antihistamine to help with the itching, but it is not helping. I am faithful to my husband and he is symptom free. Any suggestions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

If you tested negative for bacterial, viral, fungal.and parasitic infections, then the likely cause for itching and burning could be an allergic reaction.
Please try identifying any possible triggering factors for your allergy like using new soap, condition, lubricant etc. and avoid it.
You can use hydrocortisone 1% ointment to relieve the itching.Take benadryl 50 mg thrice daily.

Hope this answers your question
