Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 72 year old woman with young skin. However, I have an overgrowth of fuzz hair that I shave on my face below the eyes. The problem I have is when the hair grows back I sometimes get white sheath like substance around the hair follicle and it causes small bumps in some. Sometimes if I extract one it seems to spread over my face. I can not stand to have the hair on my face and have used chemical hair removers and even waxed but they are too harsh for my fair skin. Shaving is great when I don t get the whiteheads. What can I do or use so I don t get the white sheaths of pus.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. Excessive hairs present on the face can be removed usually by following means: 1. Shaving 2. Waxing However, if such means are inconvenient to you, it can be removed permanently by means of laser treatment. Kindly consult Dermatologist for evaluation and appropriate management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S. MBBS., MD.
