How Can Fever After Having Suffered Renal Failure Be Treated?
hi, my mother is a renal failure patient & is on dialysis 3 times a week for 15 years now. Last night, she had a bump in her clavical & the x- ray showed an inflammable area. by the end of the day, her blood pressure reached 80/40 & she got a fever (38.5 C) and she couldn't take her breath plus she couldn't recognize her family. right now she is in the ICU being monitored for B.P & fever only after her dialysis session... i don't know what is her diagnosis because her doctor is travelling. thank you for your help
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The given symptoms could be due to infection and it could be the lung infection. Such cases need complete clinical examination and testing for correct diagnosis.
Fever could be due to infection that is for sure and what type of infection is there, it can be known by investigation.
I have given my opinion from the history given here, I would advise you to discuss this with her treating physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akhtarhusain
