How Can Fever Along With Night Sweats And Muscle Ache Be Treated?

My husband is an asthmatic but does well until he has a cold. He had one that initiated on Friday and does well unless goes to lungs. Is now having fever, night sweats, muscle aches, post nasal drip, upper airway constriction. Used to take tendrils in very small doses back in the 90 s but was discontinued and has never been able to find anything else that worked to open airways like this. Any suggestions on meds like this today?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, your hubby has respiratory tract infection with muscle ache secondary to underlying pyrexia.

Apart from tendrils, he requires specific antibiotic as azithromycin or other bronchi dilator as theophylline, analgesic as extended-release preparations of Tylenol and other supportive care.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
