I went pcp on Thursday for chest congestion fever under 102 some colored mucus bought up when coughing. Was told just virus not flu not enough things to qualify. Still getting about every 9 hours breaks pretty quickly but seems like my Eczema or dry skin has gotten really bad to the point where I ve gotten red bumps they flared up what can I do
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You would need to increase your emulsifying of your skin and apply a topical steroid to treat the eczema. You would likely need a prescription to get the steroid cream. A mucolytic may help bring up the mucus from your chest such as Bisolvan or Mucomyst. Using enough fluids would also help to decrease mucus thickness and help it to break up.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions. Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
