My 20 year old son has had a fever, aches, chills and a really bad headache now for three days. I took him to the ED at 6:00 am Monday morning because his headache and chills were so bad. All blood work came back ok and so did a CT scan of his head. They gave him some drugs ther at the hospital along with a bag of fluids. They sent him him with Tylenol with coding #3. I have been giving that to him every 4 hours as directed. It seems to keep the edge off the aches and headache, but he still has the headache. It was about a 10 on the pain scale Monday morning, and just now when asked he said it was still about a 6. This is even with the Tylenol. The doctor at the ER diagnosed him as having a bad virus. The thought of menegitis has crossed my mind but I don t know much about it other than a headache and a stiff neck being the main symptoms. He is achey but has never described it as a stiff neck. Should I be worried or do you think this is just a virus that his body has to work through? Sondra
