How Can Fever In A Child Be Treated?

My daughter is 9 yrs old and last 5days suffering with fever..regularly using calpol 250mg...from last night I m using clamp kidz forte syrup 7ml under doctor prescription.. She has cold and wet cough..fever is coming for every 10hrs...100.6 to 100.7.....am I continue doctor s prescription? R go for fever profile tests? Pls suggest me....

If fever is coming regularly for 5 days you need to go for lab investigations.

Common cold and cough is suggestive of respiratory infection.

But you need to go for x-ray also to diagnose pneumonia.

If wet cough is for more than 2 weeks and she has decreased appetite along with fever please do sputum examination for tuberculosis.

For fever try home remedies like salt water tepid sponging.

Consult pediatrician as early as possible.
