How Can Fever, Sore Throat, And Congestion Be Treated?

Sick since tue early morn. high fever then gradually sore throat. by thur fever went to low grade and throat felt better but a lot of nose congestion. then yesterday it seem to start all over. fever goes up then back to low grade. been alternating ibuprifen and tylenol since tues. now my throat hurts real bad again. is real red with dark red veins all over...like a bad blood shot eye. no appetite and cough a lot that tastes bad. help..no ins ir money. that's why i haven't gone to doc yet.

I have understood your condition.You are having a throat infection with severe congestion.
YOU will need antibiotics to relieve your throat infection.
I would prescribe the following drugs for you..
1.TAB. Azithromycin 500mg OD * 5 DAYS
2.TAB. TYELENOL 500 mg TDS * 5 DAYS
3. SALINE GARGLE every 2 hours if you do not have hypertension
4.NASAL SALINE DROPS 4 DROPS IN EACH NOSTRIL every 4 hours
5.DRINK plenty of warm water and maintain oral hygiene.
6. A tea spoon of honey every 4 hours if you are not diabetic

These medications and advice would surely cure your infection.If it persists you have to consult your physician to for a thorough clinical and blood examinations.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
High fever, with throat pain, and alternating episodes is the pharyngitis fever due to bacterial infection.
I usually prescribe to my patients with such symptoms cifixime200mg, B.D, paracetamol500mg, diphenhydramine hydrochloride, ammonium chloride, and phenylephrine hydrocloride.
Gargle with luke warm salt water.

Thanks for query on HCM.
If it is not relieved with ibu and tylenol for 3 days then it looks to be bacterial upper respiratory tract infection.
It is better to start proper antibiotic like amoxy/clavulininc 625 for 7 days under guidance of your family physician.
Nsaid with decongestant,anti histaminic is needed to subside symptoms.
Stem inhalation will be helpful.
Avoid oily,spicy diet.avoid cold drinks,ice creams.
Keep in touch with your doctor.
