How Can Fibroid Uterus Causing Excess Bleeding During Menstruation Be Treated?
Hello Sir, I am presently persuing PHD from IIT Delhi. I am diagnosed with fibroid uterus. Copy of ultrasound report has been attached.Presently there has been instances of very heavy bleeding during mensuration.I would be very thankful to you for your kind attention.
Hi, I think you can take some medicines like tranexamic acid along with mefenamic acid to stop the bleeding. It works in many cases. You have to take it 3 times per day for 3 to 5 days during the periods. You can also go for some hormonal treatment like ocps, GnRH analogues, progestin, or ulipristal acetate. These also help in relieving symptoms of bleeding. But the thing is that there is a chance of recurrence whenever you will stop the medicines. So, if fibroid is causing too much bleeding even after medical management or is quite big, you may have to undergo a surgery like myomectomy. Discuss with your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
