How Can Fluid-filled Ears Be Treated For A Person Having Sinus?

Cancer survivor 2014, lymphoma, been run down because of family issues for past few months, I have been sick with sinus, on and off for six months, but in last month, had cold, sinus, ear filled with fluid, doctor gave me antibiotics last month, but still had cold for three more weeks. Felt good for a week, now my head is congested and my ears are full with fluid again. I was prescribed flucticasone prop, that seems to help sinus, but what is best to do with ears?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Ear fullness is a common symptom of sinusitis. The blockage in the sinuses to the fluid in this condition causes fluid accumulation which, in turn, causes congestion of the ear-nose tract. With the treatment you are on, if the sinus congestion resolves, the ear fullness would subside. However, I would advice you visit your primary care doctor to correctly diagnose the cause of the sinusitis. Once the cause is detected, treatment is known.
