How Can Fluid In Ear Causing Congestion Be Removed?

hi I have a congested ear because of a recent cold (still getting over it) and I have fluid in my ear without an infection. I am going on a plane on sunday and I am worried about eardrum rupture because of the intense pressure change. Please let me know what I can do to prevent this

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have blocked Eustachian tube secondary to cold as the fluid gets accumulated in the eustachian tube and middle ear secondary to infection leading to clogged and congested feeling in ear..
It can however get dissipated by taking a course of antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-allergics like Levocetrizine, oral decongestants like Phenylephrine and nasal decongestant sprays containinf Xylometazoline..

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngolgist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination and otoscopy can help in diagnosis and you can be given medications..
In case if it still does not resolve surgical drainage of ears by putting a small incision through the eardrum and draining out the fluid can help..
