How Can Food Stuck In The Throat Be Removed?

I inhaled a small piece of tuna fish (dry). I thought it had dislodged but it came back up and lodged again. It became lodged when it came back up. I coughed a lot and drank a lot of water, warm and cold. I m not sure if I coughed it up. I seem to be breathing find now but, of course, my throat is irritated and I keep burping because of the water I think. Should I be concerned about it becoming lodged in my airway? It was just a little tuna fish.

Hello,

Consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated. The impacted piece has to be removed using a laryngoscope.

Nothing much to worry as it is a simple procedure and can be done in thirty minutes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
