Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Fungal Chafing And Itching Between The Buttocks Be Treated?
I ve had a chaffing and itching between my butt cheeks that seems to stay constantly moist and gets very itchy at night and in the mornings, been going on for nearly a year now. I ve tried many topical over the counter treatments and think that if must be fungal. Any treatment ideas?
Let me tell you that chaffing and itching between your buttocks are due to fungal infection which has now become chronic. The main reason for recurrent fungal infection is due to moisture in the area and if you want a radical treatment, the most important thing is to keep the area as much dry as possible apart from the medical treatment. And medical treatment will include a systemic anti fungal and a combination cream for local application which will include antifungal, antibacterial and steroid. I suggest consult a dermatologist who will help you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
