Hello i was diagnosed with tenia manuum, nail fungus and fungus of the hand by a marine medic who is not a docter the va continued to diagnose me with these conditions after about 10 years i was sent to i was sent to a rumathoid doctor for my hand arthritis they tought my hand condition was sporiasis and then a dermatoligist also said it was sporiasis. my question is how easily are these 2 conditions related could this have been a clear misdiagnosis fromt the begining. long story short the VA now is turning their back on me stating i am not connected to sporiasis and i got it after which is wrong and the va is trying to make it sound like its not connected. Any comments? i have been given tinctures, lamisil and minacozole nitrate continously with no affect for over 10 years. i know fungus dosent last that long

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for the query.

I understand your concern.

Psoriasis is an auto-immune disorder having typical scaly skin lesion which has silver white scales with severe itching. while fungal infection causes severe itching rashes with small pimple like rashes & usual inflamatory appearance.

Now you would understand that there is no similarity between two conditions except itching &no possibility of fungal infection turning to psoriasis.

So they appeared at different time OR there was missed diagnosis.

Thank You!
