General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Oral antifungal drugs are often the first choice because they clear the infection more quickly than do topical drugs. Options include terbinafine (Lamisil) and itraconazole (Sporanox).

Terbinafine in a dose of 500 mg given once daily was efficacious and safe in the treatment of patients with dermatophytosis. Blood sugars should be under control to be under the supervision of an endocrinologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
