How Can Gastroenteritis And Chronic Diarrhea Be Treated?
4 months ago I had a laparoscopic hiatus hernia repair and partial fundoplasty, I have recovered well apart from my digestive problems. I started having looser stools, then 4weeks ago I got gastroenteritis on holiday and had chronic diahorrea for 8/9 days in spite of 3 courses of loperamide. It eventually settled but now 2 weeks later I ve got diahorrea every morning, bloating, gurgling, gas and my bowel movements are completely liquid and sometimes uncontrollable. My Consultant said I would have looser stools for a time as the vagus nerve was stretched, but this would settle with time. At first it was manageable , but since the gastroenteritis it is much worse and I am worried this will never clear up and become a permanent problem. I would welcome your opinion.
dear sir. kindly take lot of fluids to combat gastroenteritis than taking loperamide. loperamide mite cause gurgling sensation n bloating sensation as wat ever u take it mite not come out if u take loperamide. loperamide sld be used with caution. kindly get a stool examination done to look for any infection. wait and watch by taking plenty of oral liquids.if it doesn't settle down meet a gastroenterologist. thank u
