Hi .. i am a 24 year old guy .. i complain of gynecomastia for about 3 years .. it is firm and rubbery with a disc around it .. i have no HTN or DM and i am not taking any drugs .. my height is 174 cm and iam 85 kg in weight .. i have musculine hair distribution , normal morning erection and normal sexual characters .. Do you please could suggest any treatment other than surgery ? And does sexual nipple stimulation frequently cause gynecomastia ? Thanks
Gynecomastia, as you probably know, is a condition where in there is an excessive breast tissue in males. This is caused mostly due to a hormonal imbalance between testosterone (male hormone) and oestrogen (female hormone).
The other causes are certain drugs, alcohol, marijuana, etcetera. In the absence of an underlying factor, this condition usually regresses on its own after an average of 2 to 3 years.
You need to consult a specialist if you have developed signs of pain or swelling in the area. Medicines can treat this condition in some cases, before resorting to surgery. And no, sexual nipple stimulation doesn't cause gynecomastia.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Sreeja
