General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Male pattern hair loss (also called androgenetic alopecia). It is mostly linked to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) effect. Usually, the treatment consists in using anti-adrogens including Spironolactone or Finasteride.

However, spironolactone is not an improved medicine for baldness. This explains the reaction of the new doctor, although it is an anti-adrenergic effect.

So, must identify first the cause of your baldness, then, can decide of the most appropriate treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini
