How Can Hair Loss Caused Due To Sebhorric Dermititis Be Treated?
Dear DR, This is for my son, who is 17. He was diagnosed with Sebhorric Dermititis and is getting treated with Medicated Shampoos and also a few days with Cotico Steroid applications. Now the itiching and scales are under control. BUt he has started to lose hair in a big way. Most Dr s we met have said not to worry and gave some supplements. His Serum Hb is around 13 last month. A freind advised to start Fefol Z, should he?
Well, effective treatments for some types of hair loss are available. But some hair loss is permanent. If your hair loss is caused by an underlying disease, treatment for that disease will be necessary.
This may include drugs to reduce inflammation and suppress your immune system, such as prednisone.
But also, 2 medications are used for treatment and include minoxidil and Finasteride. If there is no success with these then hair transplant or restoration surgery can make the most of the hair you have left.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Iven Romic Rommstein, General Surgeon
