How Can Hard Skin Under The Toes Be Treated?

I have very hard skin under my foot just under the toes. Its like corns with two black dots also, it pains while walking. I wear only soft/padded chappals, still it pains. I cannot walk without soft chappal. Kindly suggest any gel/cream to soften the hard skin.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Corns on the feet are thickened areas of skin that can become painful.(like in your case)

They are caused by excessive pressure or rubbing (friction) on the skin. The common cause is wearing poorly fitting shoes.

You have developed a painful corn for this reason it is best to obtain expert advice from a person qualified to diagnose and treat foot disorders, also called a podiatrist.

Here are some advice that can be helpful for your problem.
-Soak your foot in warm water for 20 minutes to soften the thick skin before using a pumice stone or emery paper.
Than apply a moisturising cream on a trimmed corn to keep the skin softened and easier to rub down.
-YOu can try different types of medicated products(these usually contain salicylic acid or lactic acid), which work by chemically paring down the thickened, dead skin on corns and calluses.

To answer to your question:I suggest to try Vaseline or AmLactin Foot Repair Cream. These over-the-counter creams can help soften the callus gradually.
Apply the cream to a callus immediately after bathing, then cover the area with plastic wrap overnight to seal in moisture and nix rough skin.

Hope this is helpful.
Take care.
