How Can Headache Along With Blurred Vision Be Treated?

I have severe pain on right side of head and have been told I have chronic micro vascular ischemic disease from a MRI and nothing helps the pain. The neurologist gave me topiramate but it is not doing anything for the pain. My right eye is blurry and the doctor does not expect me to come back. He says old people have pain and sometimes they just don t know why. Yikes! (I never considered myself old at 79 until he said that. I was on no prescription meds until he gave me one and had good health until this pain started. Have terrible insurance since on medicare but all I can afford. Wait weeks to get an appointment.

Hi,

Refraction should be done and if there is error detected then it should be corrected. It can be vascular disease and if diagnosed then it should be treated.

It can be transient ischemia or postural hypotention. Bleeding time and clotting time should be tested to exclude blood dyschriasis.

At this age, you are in higher side so refraction for near vision be done to see if required to be corrected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashok Kumar Dash
