Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

All the symptoms you describe are common side effects of this drug. It can cause Palpitations due to fast heart rate and chest pain due to its sympathetic stimulation. It can cause fluid retention in the lungs (this can explain shortness of breath). If you continue to have these symptoms I would recommend you to stop the medication. If hypertension is the reason you are taking Hydralazine , there are many other drugs that should be preferred over Hydralazine. I would recommend you to discuss it further with your treating doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
