How Can Headache And Pain In The Eyes Be Treated?

My son is 26, history of VP shunt placed when an infant. also has a shunt between his shoulder blades. for last two days has had fever and severe headache, some neck soreness. we ve been to ER and had a CT of the head they said was normal, wbc also normal, fever down with antipyretics, they gave his a migraine cocktail of benedryl, Phenergan and toradal IM. sent him home with that about 8 hours ago. now fever is going back up, headach is worsening again and now has pain in his eyes when he moves them. What do we do now?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You go back to the ER. If they do not do a spinal tap, they should start intravenous antibiotics on suspected meningitis. Just my opinion.
