How Can Headache Be Treated While Suffering From Hypertension?
My blood pressure has been in the range of 130-135/90-95 for years while taking 20mg/25mg of Quinapril/Hydrochlorothiazide daily. The blood pressure has risen recently and is now 150-155/98-103 unless I double the dose to bring the blood pressure down to previous levels. Over the same time, my body weight has risen from 154lbs to 164lbs and I m still 5 -5 tall and 74 years old. Other symptoms are, a tightness around the neck and a mild buzzing headache. What is the short term- and long term solution?
As a first line management you can take analgesics like Aceclofenac or Tramadol for pain relief. Most probably it will be tension headache and will settle with analgesics. If headache persists it is better to consult a neurologist and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shinas Hussain,
